The modern view on Lucretius' theory of progress

The article deals with the theory of progress of the Roman poet and philosopher Lucretius. The author treats it as an immanent element of Lucretius' philosophical system connected with his physics and ethics. It is proved that the main ideas of this Roman philosopher are bound up with some modern problems such as correlation of technical progress and moral regress, ecological problems etc.
