The Map of Early Middle Ages Europe According to the Armenian Geography or “Ashkharatsuyts”

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. The Map of Early Middle Ages Europe According to the Armenian Geography or “Ashkharatsuyts”

We present the question of chronology, authorship and geographic orientation of “Armenian geography” (or “Ashkharatsuyts”). The map of medieval Europe from the Urals to the Atlantic Ocean was described in detail. Based on data of comparative study of ancient Greek and Roman origins we revealed changes in the political map of Europe from antiquity to the Middle Ages. The obtained results indirectly prove that “Ashkharatsuyts” is the primary source of 5th–7th centuries.
