Does Culture against Innovations?
The paper investigates the relationship between culture, tradition and innovation in a modern society. It is shown that the implementation of a technocratic approach to the process of innovation, global in nature, could lead to chaos of society, to the disintegration of the nucleus of culture, to the loss by the individual identity. The elimination of the cultural component out of the innovation dynamics is based on the concept of “economic man “- “maximizer” of utilitarian profi t in the market, with almost complete disregard for the presence other types of rationality in the individual
consciousness.
It is proved that the logic of complementarity and understanding of the availability of different types of rationality, including – ethno-cultural type of rationality can be considered innovization, without opposing its traditions. This approach expresses the real logic of complementarity existing tradition and innovation.
