On the Status of Religious and Secular Education in a Multi-Ethnic Society of Dagestan

The article discusses the modernization of the Russian secular and Islamic religious education systems in the new social and cultural conditions, with the aim of strengthening the spiritual and moral potential for a qualitative upgrade of the educational activities of modern Russian regional education system, aimed at tolerance education of youth. New social conditions associated with global changes in economic and political relations, caused the present crisis in education.
Educational institutions are faced with the need to substantially update the content and forms of educational activities.
There are new challenges: prevention of alcoholism and drug abuse in adolescents, prevention of youth involvement in destructive religious organizations, implementation of preventive measures to fi ght against manifestation of extremism and terrorism.
The last ten years in Dagestan the group of scientists of federal public budgetary educational institution of the higher education of “DGU” INPЕ is engaged in research of sotsialkno-economic, social and psychological and social and pedagogical aspects of a problem Staff of “Social and Psychological Problems of Education in the Polycultural Region” laboratory in 2015 has conducted psychological research of features of religious identity in consciousness of the studying youth of secular and
Islamic educational institutions in the city of Makhachkala.
The conducted research has revealed distinctions in the maintenance of structure of the general consciousness of the studying and student's youth of secular and religious educational institutions. The idea that the religious component
strongly takes the leading place in hierarchy of structure of consciousness of modern youth of Dagestan is confi rmed.
At this conjuncture, in the Republic of Dagestan it is necessary to develop methodological bases of integration of Muslim culture and content of teaching and educational process of secular school for further development of a national
education system, to defi ne social and pedagogical conditions and the directions of formation of the healthy personality, as in the physical, and spiritual plan
