Conflict Scenarios in Literature as a Refl ection of Social Environment

This article examines the linguistic means of generating and developing conflict scenarios and the specifics of their presentation in the works of writers of the 1980s, in relation to literary texts of the early 21st century. The article analyzes the texts of S. Dovlatov’s novel «A Foreign Woman» and D. Granin’s novel «Zubr,» as well as A. Salnikov’s novel «Petrovs in the Flu and Around It». Conflict situations are examined through the prism of the social context of the time period described in the work, as well as the characteristics of the representatives of the social groups whose images the authors create as their
protagonists.
