The Problem of Russian-Caucasian Historical Interaction in the Research of Adolf Petrovich Berger

The article introduces into the scientific circulation of the study of the archaeographer Adolf Petrovich Berget, dedicated to the history of Russian-Caucasian relations in the XVIII-XIX centuries, the problem of integration of the mountain peoples of Russia. The scientist’s studies published in such periodicals as «Kavkazskii kalendar’», «Russkaya starina», «Zhivopisnaya Rossiya», «Kavkaz», etc., are analyzed, in which A.P. Berger analyzes the policy of the Russian administration in the region, the problem of the entry of the Caucasian peoples into Russia, the evolution of the relations of the highlanders with the authorities, etc., as well as the life and activities of famous historical personalities, one way or another related to the Caucasus.
