Creative activity of Yu.A. Zhdanov, a Soviet-Russian statesman, a major scientist and thinker, is diverse and it covers special scientific studies in which he comprehended the problems of chemical evolution, bioorganic chemistry, the chemical picture of the world, ways of using theoretical achievements in real practice aimed at improving people's lives , the development of the regional economy, the environmental situation in the south of Russia, the improvement of interethnic relations. The cultural problems posed by him in his deep philosophical and cul-tural studies, which are of key importance to the study and development of West-East cultural synthesis, Russian Caucasian studies, the Caucasian vector of Rus-sia's development, are unique and have not lost their theoretical and philosophi-cal value.
The cultural values of the peoples of the Caucasus – folklore, history, po-etry, worldview, creative activity, culture - have always been in the field of his philosophical and cultural studies. The questions posed by him, ideas expressed, methods of analysis to a large extent determined the path of scientific research for young scientists who can very well realize this for a long historical
perspective.
As a patriot of his country, a supporter of the intellectual, intensive socio-economic development of its peoples, he paid considerable attention to the need to develop productive forces in the autonomies, regions and territories of the South of Russia. One of the important problems he was thinking about was the effectiveness of the development of education and science in southern Russia, the republics of the North Caucasus, and his participation here was direct and tangi-ble. The role of Yu.A. Zhdanov is great in transforming local pedagogical insti-tutes into large universities in the North Caucasus with their own scientific and technical bases.
