Vahhabism as socially-political phenomenon in Saudi Arabia

Vahhabism as socially-political phenomenon in Saudi Arabia

The process of originating, development and up-to-date state of vahhabism as religiously-political trend of sunnit Islam in Saudi Arabia is shown. Three main periods of evolution of Saudi state are described. The classification of up-to-date state of religious life of the kingdom is given.
Simultaneousle the article takes us through the modern state of Islam in Northen Caucasus. Some ways of counteraction ideology and practice of religiously-political extremism in Northen Caucasus are proposed.
