Solomon Ibn Gabirol's Doctrine of Universal Matter and arabic neoplatonism's influence
The paper deals with the philosophical doctrine of mediaeval Hebrew thinker Solomon Ibn Gabirol, in particular with his concept of universal matter. In comparing different documents the author evaluates the degree to which the arabic neoplatonic texts influence the content of the notion. It is assumed that the notion of universal matter assures the unity of spiritual and corporeal things throughout the world.
