Preservation of rare animals of the South Russia: preserves, or the artificial breeding?

By concrete examples incapacity of the existing system of specially guarded natural territories is shown. This system gives no guarantee of preservation of natural populations of rare animals.
A brief review of attempts of artificial breeding of rare animals in the region is given. Necessity of systematic approach to the problem is shown. The scheme including artificial breeding as well as territorial ways of preserving of rare animals is offered.
