The Typological Linguistic and Conversational Markers of Cognitive Conflict in English and Russian Languages

This article deals with the analysis of the typological linguistic and conversational markers of cognitive conflict as a result of discordance of cognitive programs of communicants in English and Russian communicative cultures. The conversational and linguistic manifestations of cognitive conflict are presented by the author on the propositional, illocutionary, argumentative, interpersonal and discursive levels of two conversational cultures with their own lexical, syntactic and contextual characteristics.
