Linguistic and Cultural Status of Superstitions in the Russian Linguistic Culture

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. Linguistic and Cultural Status of Superstitions in the Russian Linguistic Culture

The concept of "superstition" is specified, the functions of irrational components belonging to common consciousness are determined, the views of different sciences on superstitions are considered, and the definition of "superstition" in the context of linguistic culture is deduced. The cultural and linguistic status of superstitions is concluded based on the types of cultural spheres where superstitions reveal themselves, and on the excerpts of fiction as the field richest in senses.
