Linguocultural Features of Russian and English Proverbs and the National Character Identification

The published article touches upon the problem of lingvocultural characteristics of Russian and English proverbs which reflect specific features of each nation and build up the national character. Moreover, Russian and English proverbs reveal and prove the existence of double standard in both cultures. The question investigated in the article seems to be significant as proverbs of any language represent an ideal and reliable source for the process of the national character identification and reconstruction.
