Cognitive Organization of intertextual Metaphor in Iris Murdoch’s Artistic discourse
The article deals with the problems of functioning intertextual metaphor in postmodernist discourse, interrelation of concepts in metaphors. These issues are analyzed by means of revealing the role of basic metaphorical model “X – Theatre” in creating figurative paradigms in Iris Murdoch’s novels. “X” is understood to be a certain cognitive area serving in author’s discourse as the base for corresponding metaphorical pattern.
