“Freemason’s Code”: Rituals of Freemasons in Literature

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. “Freemason’s Code”: Rituals of Freemasons in Literature

The article deals with masonry phenomenon, which had been reflected in literary works of the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries. The author of the article interprets several episodes from Goethe, Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy and Bulgakov, paying special attention to various possible meanings of the ritual of mason initiation and masonry attributes. The given aspect helps understanding of mason symbolism as a part of universal culture.
