The article reveals an outstanding representative of the Kuban Cossacks in the XX century – ataman V.G. Naumenko. It dwells upon his social and political activity in 20–40s of the XX century when he was an army ataman of Kuban cossack army in the emigration. His great mission of remaining the Cossacks abroad is analysed, as well as facts of his collaboration with German occupation powers during the Second World War.
