Chekhov and Lorca: Dialogue with Henri Bergson
The article analyses the originality of the temporal structure of two plays – A.P. Chekhov`s “The Cherry Orchard” and F. Garcia Lorca`s “Donya Rosita, Damsel or the Language of Flowers” together with the conception of subjective psychological time suggested by the French philosopher Henri Bergson. The author confirms that the given temporal category allowed the two playwrights to express the depth of the inner world of the personages and to show the subtlest shades of their feelings and emotional experience.
