Metaphor in a Political Discourse as Means of Belief and a Manipulation

Problems of functioning of a metaphor in a political discourse are analysed with precise differentiation of two kinds of speech influence: belief and manipulations. Accordingly, potentialities of a metaphor come to light as means of belief and as means of a manipulation. The new typology of metaphors in a political discourse is offered.
