Politikal Reaction in Ossetia in the Second Half of 19th Century: Causes, Character, Consequences (Historical and Political-Legal Aspect)
The attempts to analyze the reasons, character and consequences of political reaction in Ossetia in the second half of the 19th century have been undertaken. The author being guided by the reliable original sources shows the reasons of counter-reforms at the and of 19th century in Ossetia and in Terscaya region in general. These counter-reforms became serious obstacles on the way to the bourgeois-democratic reorganization. The role of the both outstanding Russian statesmen of that period (M.T. Loris-Melikov, D.A. Miljutin, N.P. Ignatjev, D.A. Tolstoy, chief of the Terscaya region general M.S. Kahanov) and distinguished Ossetian enlighteners, poets and writers (K.L. Khetagurov, A.I. Tsalikov, S.V. Kokhiev, H.A. Urujmagov, and others) has been shown.
