The article examins a question of the philosophical comprehension of the process of the mutual understanding of islamckoy and Christian cultures, and relations to Islam in connection with the study of the problem of tolerance and understanding of the spiritual peace of man of another culture. Is refined role and place of Islam in mentalnosti of citizens at the level of the semantic codes of ordinary perception, prerequisite of the dialogue of Christian and Moslem cultures and their manifestation under the contemporary Russian conditions.
