Structural and semantic features of the modern language of the youth in the Federal Republic of Germany: literary and colloquial speech

The subject of the article are semantic transformations of the youth lexis used in modern German literature and in the speech of youth as well as its pragmatic impact. The authors compare the contextual meanings of youth lexis to its formal definitions and the definitions given by native speakers. The hypothesis about two tendencies in development of youth lexis meaning is formulated. The problem of interaction between literary language, colloquial speech and youth language is discussed.
