Language Situation in North Caucasus: History and Respective of Development

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. Language Situation in North Caucasus: History and Respective of Development

The article describes briefly history of the language situation and language policy in North Caucasus from the Middle Ages till today. The article also analyzes the present language situation in the region and introduces some possible directions of its development. The analysis is presented with the conclusions and recommendations aimed at improving the situation.
