The participation of peoples of the Karachayevo-Cherkesskaya Republic in the Georgian-Abkhasian war in 1992–1993
The causes of the Georgian-Abkhasian collision, which led to the war of 1992–1993, are researched. The forms of support of the peoples of the North Caucasus, given to Abkhasian people in their struggle for the independence, are investigated. The main attention is paid to the help given to the Karachayevo-Cherkesskaya Republic and the participation of Karachai, Circassian, Abazin peoples and Cossacks in military actions against Georgian military forces and armed bands.
