The processes in development of the borrowed shortenings in the modern languages are considered. The significance of this article can be proved by the some reasons. Firstly, the borrowed shortening is one of the developing branches of lexicology nowadays. Secondly, the borrowed shortening reflects the general trend of simplification of a language. Thirdly, the borrowed shortening is closely connected with the development of modern informational technologies, being a developing branch of linguistics.
