The Activity of the Russian Federation Public Chamber in the Context of Civil Society Formation

The article analyses the Russian Federation Public Chamber as an institution of civil society as well as the background of its formation, aims and tasks. Evaluating various points of view on the social value of this institution and estimating the results obtained for the period it was established, the author points out speci?c features of the stage when the Public Chamber was formed in Russia and its role in civil society formation processes.
