Sacred Concert of A.A. Archangelsky’s Musical Creativity (1846–1924)

The article is devoted to the study the creativity of Russian composer and conductor Archangelsky who organized sacred concerts in Russia at the end of 19-th beginning 20-th century. Archangelsky’s sacred concerts were popular during his lifetime and have wide spread in our time. Consider the historical and cultural background of the epoch, identifies the stylistic features of the concerts, as the basis of Archangelsky’s sacred creativity. Defines the role of Archangelsky as a musician, an educator and a composer in building of Russian culture.
