The Ideological Foundation of Religious-Political Extremism and Terrorism in the North Caucasus

The ideological determinants of ethno-political and ethno-religious tensions in the North Caucasus are analyzed. The transition of the North Caucasus terrorist underground from the nationalist separatism to a universal Islamist ideology is described. The conclusion about the need to develop value-ideological base to ensure real integration of the North Caucasus in the cultural and civilizational space of Russia is made.
