The article examines the cultural heritage of F. Mendelssohn from the point of view of his signi?cance for the contemporary culture. The harmonicity of his music, the non turgidity of narration, tendency to moral positivism and sharp collisions are accentuated here. The necessity of such qualities of personal and social psychology nowadays is also evaluated here.
