The Political Map of Asia Minor According to the “Armenian Geography” (“Ashkharatsuyts”)

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. The Political Map of Asia Minor According to the “Armenian Geography” (“Ashkharatsuyts”)

The author presents the question of political map of Asia Minor according to “Armenian geography” (or “Ashkharatsuyts”). Changes in the political map of Asia Minor from antiquity to the Middle Ages are revealed based on data of comparative study of ancient Greek, Roman origins in compare with “Ashkharatsuyts”. The obtained results indirectly prove that “Ashkharatsuyts” is essantial primary source to study the problems of political geography of that region.
