The author describes nominations of different levels (words, word combinations, sentences), which are used in different models of text adaptation. Here are distinguished such models of text adaptation as simpliﬁ cation, denotatum explication and ampliﬁcation. There is abridging of the text in simpliﬁcation due to the usage of one-word nominations and lexis instead of sentences. Denotatum explication and ampliﬁcation impact text extension. In this case predicate nominations explicate the necessary information for a reader.
