The article deals with the common lexical units used in the Turkish language and the dialects of modern Azerbaijani language. Lexical characters that have been used in all-national Azerbaijani language for a long time have been able to preserve its existence in present Azerbaijani dialects. Besides, such words have also been noticed in Turkish literary language as a result of researches on the language. Study of such common Turkic words has big importance from all- Turkological standpoint.
