The article touches upon the history of relationships between M.A. Sholokhov and Y.A. Zhdanov. Y.A. Zhdanov’s articles devoted to the writer’s works and life are analyzed to consider the contribution that Y.A. Zhdanov made to the modern research on Sholokhov.
