The article reveals one of the aspects of the activities of the Caucasian deputy, who strived for using the various
political-diplomatic measures of infl uence on the mountain dwellers of the North Caucasus as additional means, which
anticipated military efforts of Russian authorities, aimed at pacifi cation of Northern Caucasian region.
