Between Orientalism and Orientology: Research Approaches in the Caucasus Studies

The present article traces the history and the critic of the Edward Said’s conception of Orientalism and its
applicability in the Caucasus studies in Russia. Besides, Russian orientology is examined in the context of Saidian model.
