The article analyzes different approaches to the defi nition of the effectiveness of legal norms, studied the criteria
for assessing its effectiveness. Considered are the main conditions for the effectiveness of legal norms, as well as the
problem of its improvement. Made proposals aimed at improving the effectiveness of legal norms in the mechanism of
regulation.
