About Russia’s Civilizational Identity in the New Geopolitical Situation

In connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the nomenclature of scientific specialties, the journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, in the following scientific specialties should be published: 5.6.1. About Russia’s Civilizational Identity in the New Geopolitical Situation

The challenges that Russia has to face in connection with the crisis over Ukraine are discussed in the paper. It is concluded that in the new geopolitical situation it is necessary to revise the pro-Western strategy of development of post-Soviet Russia and to focus on the formation of Russia’s civilizational identity as a distinctive unique civilization.
