The Comic Potential of the Absurd and Paradoxical Phraseological Units of the French Language, Characterizing the Human Intellectual Inconsistency
There has been made an attempt of analysis of comic potential of those phraseological units in the French language,
which indicate human intellectual inconsistency. On the basis of the French language it was ascertained that such turns of
speech refl ect the individual’s ability to value the actuality in a comic way. Mechanism of forming of the comic potential
of such units appears to be the incongruence between the components of the stated units. The layer of the analyzed
phrazeological units represents a fragment of the linguistic view of the world, which ethnic specifi city is caused by the
originality of the linguocreative way of thinking of the French.
