A.S. Vyazigin – Scientist, Teacher, and Public Figure

A.S. Vyazigin was signifi cant public and political fi gure of the early 20th century. He was the initiator of creation of the public monarchist organizations in Kharkiv, has released the log right-wing “peace work”, and was a member of the 3rd State Duma. In this article the author considers teaching activities A. C. Washino, which he devoted a considerable part of his life. He was Professor of Kharkov University philological faculty, he taught at the Kharkiv higher women’s courses. Professor Basigin lectured on the history of the middle ages and the history of Rome, as well as led workshops. Andrei Sergeyevich worried about the situation that occurred in education in the early 20th century due to an increase in student unrest. He believed that students need to spend more time learning rather than political upheavals. Andrey was a sensitive mentor, not indifferent to the problems of students. He was an excellent teacher, a brilliant lecturer, audience which were always fi lled with students.
