Islamic Revival in the North Caucasus: the Disintegration and Integration Aspects
This article is devoted the peculiarities of developing the phenomenon Islamic renovation in the North Caucasus. The article touches this problem from the period of Garbachov’s perestroika, the dissolution of USSR and including the period of Modern Russia. It is known centuries-old development of Islamic in the North Caucasus promoted consolidation many nations of eastern and western parts of this region, comprehended the Shafi t’s and Khafi t’s doctrines. Local customs and traditions of this region added the peculiarities to existing Islam.
The Islamic renovation connects both positive and negative demonstration, also integration and disintegration developments. The disintegration role of Wakhabits and their confl ict relations with local Islam which has its own features in the east and west of the North Caucasus is justifi ed.
The correctness using terms “the Islam Radicals”, “Islamism”, “the Political Islam” are doubted. The ways of counteraction and overcoming, the radical and extremist development in the North Caucasus are connected with successful solving social, economic and ideological problems in the region.
