The Concept of “Image of God” as Fundamental Principle Orthodox Christianity V.V. Zenkovsky

This article is dedicated to the works of Russian religious philosopher – V.V. Zenkovsky. Bright representative of Russian philosophical thought, literary critic, psychologist and theologian, the founder of Christian metaphysics system. In the works of V.V. Zenkovsky developed a unique, not only for domestic but also for the world of philosophy, philosophical and religious system. Zenkovsky continues the theological tradition of the Holy Fathers, based on the principles of biblical anthropology and of the New Testament gospel. His Christian doctrine of man is anthropological theory of the formation of personality, which has its object of study – a believer. Christian anthropology Zenkovsky is an attempt to complete the job by the Church, but an incomplete doctrine of man and cosmology system. The article analyzes the idea of Christian philosophy. Showing Zenkovsky thinking about the concepts of the individual and of the Church, God and the world, and their influence on the formation of the object of his philosophical quest. It is given the interpretation of the concept of “image of God” in man – like one of the central problems of the Orthodox anthropology Zenkovsky. We consider the simultaneous existence in man “spiritual light” and “dark spirituality,” and their place in the hierarchy of spiritual forces.
