The article based on new arcival materials, reveals the struggle of diplomatic and intelligens services of Britain, France and Russia to strenghten its position in Persia and Caucasus in the fi rst harf of the 19th sentury.
Napoleon led a delicate game with Alexander I imp., offered him a divizion of the world and partieipation in a campaigh against British India. Russia sought to gain a foothold in the Caucasus after the annexation of Eastern Georgia to the empire in 1801 y. Napoleon nurtured plans for world domination forcing Britain out of the Middle East. Britain sought to plevent new strategic players from entering the region. The article reveals the behind-the-scenes play of the emissries of Napoleon and Britain.
