Folk Songs and Poetry about the Patriotic War of 1812 as a Factor in Preserving the Historical Memory and Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia
This year we celebrate the anniversary of an important historical event - two hundred and five years of Russia's victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. This war left a deep trace in the memory of the peoples of our country, in their minds and spiritual culture.
Wars have always left a mark not only in people's memory, but also in the history of the country, oral folk texts, national songs, literature, art and, of course, in linguistic consciousness.
The article raises an important problem of the correlation of folklore texts, namely songs, with historical reality. The study of musical folklore, which tells about the most important events of the Patriotic War of 1812, and about its heroes (military commanders, officers, soldiers), of course, is of great interest. Historical songs and oral stories are an important source for studying the views of the people on the events of that distant time. We examine the phenomenon that has multiple interpretations, but it has not yet been studied socioculturally enough. Despite the fundamental similarity in the understanding of war by representatives of different
cultures, there is also an ethnocultural uniqueness of understanding this phenomenon.
The study of folklore tradition, as well as the samples of songs themselves, is important not only in the scientific plan, but also to preserve the song heritage of the past as a national heritage for descendants. The problem of "war and folklore" clearly has two sides and can be the subject of both historical science itself and philology; in particular, folklore studies, as well as interdisciplinary research. The formulation of such a task became possible only today, when the traditional area of historical phenomena and events that took place in a particular epoch can be reinterpreted and even substantially revised through the prism of the language, culture, folklore and oral history.
