Results of a research of an early stage of the addition of the Abkhazian statehood based on the complex analysis of the historical situation mainly the 7–8th centuriesб which has received reflection in the Byzantine, Georgian, Armenian, Arab sources and also on the analysis Byzantine-Khazar-Abasgian communications, opposition of the coalition to the Arab gains are reflected in article. The data set has allowed the author to draw on signs of internal sovereignty a conclusion about a forming status of the Abazgsky kingdom in the middle of the 7th century. In article it is shown that in 732–733 Abasgiya enters the anti-Arab coalition
with Byzantium and Khazaria supported with dynastic marriages that testifies, according to the author, about international recognition Abasgsky kingdom of the first stage (Konstantin Abasgsky's time). Events around Anakopiya 734–735, (when Arabs, having won battle, couldn't take fortress), are one more sign of external sovereignty. They promoted successful expansion of the territory of Abasgsky kingdom under the leadership of the archon-tsar Leon I, who used influence of Byzantium for a statement on the Abkhazian throne. In the 760th years Leon II, the heir-at-law of the kingdom, using a favorable international situation, actually
abolishes institute of an arkhonts and leaves submission of the Byzantine Empire. Contrary to the concept, which was established ina historiography, the author's concept determines transition time from an arkhonts to the Kingdom – the 660th, disproves the occurring statement about illegality of accession of Leon of II on the Abkhazian throne, which in the 760th years displaces successors of the archon Leon and gains recognition from Kagan of Khazaria. The second stage in formation of the Abkhazian kingdom which is characterized by the aggressive foreign policy, directed to the East far beyond his initial borders begins with this period.
