Poles of Westernization and Islamization in the Inner- Political Process of the Turkish Republic (the Second Half of the XX Century)
The article discusses the political opposition of the National Republican and Democratic parties of Turkey. The growth of social stratification against the background of the design of the rural and large industrial bourgeoisie exposed the differentiation in the social and economic spheres of the country, which pushed for a departure from the one-party system and further "Westernization".
The Democratic Party, having chosen a departure from the Kemalist direction in the domestic policy of the state as a vector of reforms, promptly restored and strengthened the positions of the Islamist foundations of Turkish society. The introduction of the religious component took place in all spheres of society, including education. The DP leaders quickly took the country to the side of
the majority system and authoritarianism, which caused an institutional crisis, resolved by the 1960 revolution.
