To the Question of the Validity of Scientific Empirical Research

(Southern Federal University)

The article deals with the problems of empirical control procedures in scientific research in connection with the problem of validity of the research results. The problems of validity threats and their control are considered in the context of changing the scientific paradigm. It is shown that it is possible to consider these control procedures as a subject of activity of a real empirical subject of science, which, putting the empirical hypothesis into question, considers the conditions of empirical research and the threat of validity as obviously existing in reality (objective). The problem, in the author's opinion, is that the hypothesis substantiation within the framework of empirical research is carried out on the basis of conclusions, the acceptability of which has yet to be substantiated
with the use of controlling empirical procedures. Accordingly, questions are raised about the empirical subject of scientific knowledge.
The article contains the substantiation of the possibility to describe the connection between the fact that the subject calls into question (hypothesis) and the fact that the subject is recognized as reality (threats of validity and control procedures) as reciprocal.
