The Main Directions of the State Cultural Policy in the Republic of Kalmykia on the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage in the Post-Soviet Period

The article analyzes the processes of cultural development in the post-Soviet period in one of the distinctive regions of the Russian Federation – the Republic of Kalmykia. It is noted that the culture of Kalmykia is an integral part of the cultural space of multinational Russia. The brand of modern Kalmykia has become unique samples of Kalmyk music and dance folklore, the art of Jangarchi, old draw songs «Ut Dun», etc. Special attention is drawn to the policy of state authorities in the region to preserve cultural values as the basis for the stable development of society.
