The Role of Education in the Language Politic in the Formation of Many Languages in Africa

This article focuses on the revitalization and preservation of African languages, which are increasingly being replaced by the more politically and economically advantageous international languages of the former colonial countries. The authors note the special role of education in the development of African multilingualism and identify the factors contributing to the increased interest in the local languages of the continent.
