"Teegin Gerl" – the Founder of the Kalmyk National Periodicals and its Role in the Development of National Literature (to the 90th Anniversary)

In the introductory part of the article for the first time from the scientific point of view the questions of formation and development of the first literary magazine of Kalmykia "Teegin gerl" (Light in the steppe), which this year turns 90 years old. The goals and objectives of the article are determined to study the prerequisites for the appearance of the "Teegin gerl" magazine and to reveal its place and role in the development of the national periodical of Kalmykia in the early 20th century.
The main part of the article focuses on the content of the journal, the analysis of the socio-historical conditionality of its origin, the role of the journal in unifying the literary forces of Kalmykia in the first third of the twentieth century, and the formation of professional Kalmyk literature, emphasizing specific features and patterns in the development of the republic's national periodicals.
In the final part, the place of the magazine "Teegin gerl" was determined in the general cultural and political-ideological space of Kalmykia at the beginning of the 20th century. As a result, the conclusion is that the analysis of the content of the journal is important not only from the point of view of studying the history of Kalmyk literature, but also for a better understanding of the historical, social, spiritual and cultural, and even humanitarian processes that took place in Kalmykia for almosta.
National journalism is an integral part and an appreciable component of the Russian media system and the contribution to this all-Russian process of the literary and art magazine "Teegin gerl" is obvious.
