(Institute of Russia Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences (China))

The article discusses the development of Russian teaching in the Qing Dynasty of China. Based on the analysis of the educational objectives, teaching methods, curricula and teaching facilities of the relevant educational institutions at that time, we can infer that Russian education was actively tried and studied in the Qing Dynasty. Generally speaking, more attentions were paid to practicality not to the basic grammar researches and Russian teaching, which led to a slow development of early Russian teaching in China.
