The article considers the problem of defining the substantive field of social philosophy as a scientific and educational discipline. One-person approaches to this problem, established in modern domestic social science, are analyzed. The difficulty of determining the subject field of social philosophy is related to the difficulty of separating its subject from that of theoretic sociology and other social sciences. These circumstances led to an attempt to constitut a new discipline - social theory. In addition, the crisis of Marxist social science, the element of which was social philosophy in the second half of the 20 century in Russia, also fluctuated the theoretical basis for the demarcation of its subject matter. The dominant understanding of the subject of social philosophy was based on the naturalistic paradigm of social knowledge. This approach loses the notion of the essential nature of the social interactions associated with the actor 's exercise of social action of his or her identity. That approach also prevented social transfers from being fully explored. The article proposes to consider the subject of social philosophy as social interactions of a high level of community, elements of which are not only the processes of influence of actors on each other, but also the formation of the identity of these actors.
